With the goal of bringing institutional private equity capital to Western North Carolina, Sweetwater has entered into an agreement with Dogwood Equity, LLC, managers of the North Carolina Economic Opportunities Fund. The Fund has $74 million available for investment in high-growth North Carolina businesses. Under this relationship, Sweetwater will market the fund’s initiatives and bring investment opportunities in WNC to Dogwood. In partnership with Dogwood, Sweetwater is the first and only source of locally-based institutional private equity capital in Western North Carolina.

Sweetwater has also assembled a group of high net worth individuals who are sophisticated investors and are actively looking to make investments in private companies. Sweetwater provides these individuals access to investment opportunities that would have otherwise gone unnoticed or been funded by institutional investors.

On a selected basis, Sweetwater and its partners will consider direct participation in companies based on investment appetite and profile.
